How to Decorate a Living Room 4 Different Glam Ways

Style guru Farah Merhi from Inspire Me Home Décor is going to show us how to transform a living room four times to show you a few options that will glam up your space on a budget! One of her design rules is to invest in neutrals, like this sofa, so you can change out your look. This chesterfield is perfect and you’ll see just how versatile it can be. Let’s get started! Look one: is Organic Glam because of its natural influences. Elements like gold leaf, marble, and earth tones will harmonize together instead of competing, which makes for a very calming look. Farah pulled the color scheme from this wall art and then mixed in these pillows to introduce more color. A sculptural modern side chair and a beaded pillow add structure to balance the simplicity of the succulents, organic shapes, and plant motifs. And this tray adds just a little bit of shine – check out how Farah did it in another video! If you love ultra-feminine colors, then say Bon jour to Parisian Glam. This has all of the pastels that are totally on-trend right now: soft pinks, blues, minty greens. How dramatic is this slipper chair? For Farah, this is the perfect place to kick back and unwind. And check this out – everyone loves a chandelier, but this is an easy way to bring some old school opulence to your space: a crystal table lamp! Farah mixes in some of this mercury glass to bring out the sparkle. Next up is a HUGE trend. Everything from music to fashion is going tropical, and the look is easy and really fun to glam up. Here’s the secret: go bold with color, but bring it back down to earth with natural textures. Gold, green, and pink hues are perfect to bring a little tropical luxury home, even if the closest you’re getting to the beach is a pina colada in your PJs. This look is all about having fun and mixing it up – mix patterns and colors, you really can’t mess up. Farah finishes off this look with some leopard pillows, because why not? The colors are neutral, so they’ll help ground the look. The last look might surprise you, but I totally love it! This is a look that Farah calls Man Glam. It’s not frilly or fluffy, but this moody and dramatic style is so inviting and relaxing! It’s all about dark, plush fabrics that make a space feel more intimate and sophisticated. And check out this rug - the geometric twist on a traditional thickly woven area rug is both sturdy and effortlessly cool.A stone vase and marble coasters anchor the adventuresome brass telescope and compass, and they go perfectly with this map art print.

My Daily Cleaning Routine

I get asked regularly how I keep my home clean and spotless with kids. There really is no secret. I have a daily cleaning routine that I try to stick to, realistically this is something I can tackle every day... but of course I have my days where I just want to crawl into bed and completely ignore the mess. Give your self some slack and don't be hard on yourself. Establish a routine that would tackle the easy clean up and go for it when you get a chance. I also like to clean up or tidy up throughout the day to avoid a complete pile up of work at the end of the day or the next morning. My older kids are expected to pitch in and help with chores (while they complain and whine about it... but who's listening? Totally ignoring their complaints). I have found that if you do tackle your chores early in the morning and at night before bed time, it leads to a more productive day ahead!

5 Ways to Style a Coffee Table

Design expert Farah Merhi from Inspire Me Home Décor show five easy ways to style your coffee table. This is one of the most common questions Farah gets asked on social media. Try one of these tricks, and you’ll rock the look flawlessly. Ok, option one is called tray chic. A tray is perfect because it corrals everything on table. The secret here is to choose a material that’s different than what your table is made out of. This mirrored tray will add dimension to this glass coffee table, but something like this gold leaf tray is perfect to contrast the glass top. This is a really easy DIY that Farah will show you how to make in another video.
The second way to arrange your coffee table with a stylish stack. From art books to vintage perfume bottles, an organized array shows personality. A stack of inspirational books is clever, colorful, and eye-catching. Now, onto number three. This is what Farah calls haute height. Coffee table décor doesn’t have to be flat. Vary the height and scale of unique mementos with a mini statue, like this giraffe and this turtle trinket tray. Place the tallest item away from the edge and in the center of the table, then offset with another item around half its height. The fourth way to arrange your coffee table is called floral fresh. Farah loves to highlight natural elements, from succulents in a rattan tray to fresh flowers in a glass cloche. A small bouquet can be timeless and stunning. You don’t have to have a green thumb either—faux flowers can add a sense of freshness, too, and no one will be able to tell the difference. Lastly, the “less is more” approach is one of Farah’s favorites—its clean and tidy. Showcase just one item; such as a tray, or plant. If you think it looks cluttered, reshuffle the items until you like how the coffee table looks. Farah likes to update the look every few months to keep the room looking fresh. There you have it! Have fun glamming it up! Find all these products and more at Wayfair.com!

How to Make the Most Luxurious Bed

There’s nothing better curling up in a freshly made bed. Farah Merhi is here to show you everything you need to make the most luxurious bed ever and how to get the look and feel of a glamorous, hotel-like look and coziness in your own home. First, let’s start with a sturdy bedframe and plush upholstered headboard. This tufted option is classically glam—Farah loves it! We spend a third of our lives in our bed, so we think it’s worth investing in. Do you feel like some of your best sleep is at a hotel? Well, besides the fact that you may be on vacation, Farah will let you in on a secret—it’s all because of a mattress pad! A plush mattress pad with a stretched skirt to keep it in place like this one will have you drifting off to sleep in no time. Let’s talk sheets. Always choose high thread count and natural materials for the softest and most durable fabric. Buy a sheet set to ensure fitted and flat sheet and pillow cases are the same softness. Make sure the fitted sheet gets tucked around each corner, and go for an extra deep sheet if you have a pillow top or tall mattress. Another tip! Fold the flat sheet under the mattress with the quilt, comforter, or duvet. To Farah, luxury is all about a fluffy, downy duvet. Add a duvet cover, like a ruffled option which adds a soft texture to the room. For extra coziness and warmth, choose an elegant velvet quilt like this diamond embossed set. Super fluffy pillows should be layered back to front. For a queen or full-sized bed, you’ll need two European pillows and two standard pillows, plus one accent or bolster pillow. If you have a king size, just add a European size pillow by the headboard. Finish the bed with a throw blanket. This faux fur option is so soft and beautiful and is perfect for fall until spring. Of course when you are in your bed, the décor around your room will affect how relaxed you are. A pair of table lamps, gorgeous wall art, and decorative boxes are reminder that this is a place to relax and unwind. Thanks for watching! Find all these beautiful products and more at Wayfair.com!

5 Ways to Get Creative with Peel-and-Stick Wallpaper

Go bold with wallpaper, without the paste or commitment to covering an entire room. Farah Merhi shows five creative ways to use peel-and-stick wallpaper. Don’t be afraid of using wallpaper, this temporary option is easily removable but is sticky enough to be used again and again. Here are Farah’s favorite ways to use this design staple in a glamorous way. First things first, measure height and width of the surface, pre-cut each of the panels to fit, align the pattern for large designs, peel the backing, reposition if necessary, and use a squeegee to smooth air pockets. Finally, trim excess. Always apply to clean, smooth surfaces. The second way to use temporary wallpaper is in the a door—this unexpected placement adds character and color to any door. Here, Farah cut and placed pieces inside the molding on this door, but you can also cover an entire door. This creates an unexpected focal point and can really break up the space. Third, use peel-and-stick wallpaper on a nightstand. Cover an old or unfinished nightstand duo with temporary wallpaper and some paint for a stunning makeover. See how Farah transformed this pair from blah to beautiful in another video. Fourth, you can use temporary wallpaper as wall art. If you simply love a pattern but want to confine it so it doesn’t , frame it. This pattern would look great above a mantle, too! Inside a bookcase—this peekaboo style works well in any room. Simply cut to size and cover the back of the shelf. We love this option because it can move from room to room, or if you are renting—to your next place, and still has high impact. Cover a tray—a basic tray is totally renewed with temporary wallpaper. When you aren’t using it to hold beverages for guests, lean it on the counter of your kitchen for a classy pop of color. Tips On Designing A Fun and Colorful Bedroom

My daughter wanted to transition her bedroom from a little girl's room to a big girl's bedroom. Knowing that she might change her mind again on color preference a few years down the road, I chose to stick with neutrals as the base color and add her favorite color (for now), which is turquoise, through her accents and decorative items. Cost effective! That's what we like to hear!
